Center pivot irrigation in the Midwest Corn Belt
Detailed Description
Vast acreages of corn and soybeans are watered by center pivot irrigation in the Corn Belt states of the Midwest. Activities associated with agricultural land use can have a profound effect on stream water quality. In 2013, the USGS Regional Stream Quality Assessments (RSQA) investigtaed the water quality in 100 small streams across the region, and relations to stream ecology.
