Colonial Hotel Gate Art Installation

The Ghost of the Colonial Hotel, a steel scaffolding outline at the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Park Central East, commemorates the hotel that once stood on the site and acts like a gateway framing the entire plaza.  

Springfield, Missouri is stepping into a milestone year the historic Route 66 major Centennial and America’s 250 anniversaries. The city unveiled its newly relocated Route 66 Welcome Center and Birthplace Plaza, a series of new art installations, designed to tell the Route 66 story.
