Detailed Description
Two Cortinarius alboviolaceus at different stages of growth . This mycorrhizal mushroom is striking with its beautiful purple tones gills. Cortinarius mushrooms have a spiderweb-like covering over their gills when young called a cortina (Spanish for curtain), which is where the genus name comes from.
