Daniela Rojas-Cañizales, a graduate student at our Florida Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, took First Place in Conservation Posters at the 44th International Sea Turtle Symposium in Kona, Hawaii (March 2026)! WTG!!!
Her award-winning poster, “Beyond the shell: Exploring the dimensions of sea turtle take in Bocas del Toro, Panama,” highlights how combining local knowledge with strong theoretical frameworks can uncover current and emerging threats to sea turtles—and help guide better conservation strategies.
