Dinosaur National Monument - gently dipping strata

Detailed Description
This view shows the gently dipping strata of the white Weber Sandstone (Pennsylvanian and Permian) and the overlying red shale and sandstone beds of Permian and Triassic age formations (Park City, Moenkopi, and Chinle Formations). In the distance, rock spires and buttes form the crest of Split Mountain. This image was taken near the Petroglyphs Trail along the the Cub Creek Road in the western (Utah) portion of Dinosaur National Park.
