Eagles Nest Rock is located in Gardner Canyon just north of the Montana-Wyoming border (north of Mammoth Hot Springs). It is visible from Highway 89 on the east side of the river. The outcrops consist of Late Cretaceous sedimentary rocks (USGS, 1972).
