To safely respond, post-disaster, USGS Scientists are careful to ensure that they can avoid debris and personal hazards while documenting the damage. Here, a fence atop a seawall was torn free taking huge chunks of the top and back of the wall with it and debris can be seen on the beach at Madeira Beach, FL.
