Five purge bubblers

Detailed Description

Five purge bubblers at the Mercury Research Laboratory. Preparing purge bubblers for sample analysis. Purging inorganic mercury on to a gold-coated bead trap. Chemically treat (reduce) the sample, purge it from the sample solution, capture onto gold coated bead trap, desorb the analyte on the instrument which has AFS detection. The yellow oxidized sample is reduced, then a measured volume is poured into a bubbler, then further reduced, then the analyte is flushed from solution with gas, then captured onto bead trap, bead trap inserted into instrument, thermally desorbed, and then AFS detector.
