Glacial Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada

Detailed Description

Lake Louise is a glacial lake located within Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. The water in the lake often exhibits a turquoise colour which comes from rock flour (fine-grained, silt-sized particles of rock) carried into the lake by melt-water from the glaciers that overlook the lake.  Kayaking and canoeing are popular activities during summer while in winter the lake can be used for ice fishing and ice skating.
