Hand sample and outcrop photos of Sour Creek dome ash flow (ignimbrite) packages. (A) Package 1 as clasts (see arrow) within lithic breccia in Bog Creek (Wilson et al., 2018). (B) Package 2 with scoria indicated by arrows. (C) Package 3 with increased crystal sizes to all other packages found within dark matrix. (D) Package 4 at Thistle Creek with dark clasts that differ from scoria in appearance, all within lighter matrix. (E) Contact of package 4 on package 3 as viewed at Thistle Creek. Yellow scale is 1 m long. (F) Capping ignimbrite at Bog Creek with dark, recycled ignimbrite clasts identifying this material as package 4. (G, H) Package 5, as found at Stonetop Mountain, with abundant pumice, scoria, and recycled ignimbrite clasts.
