Heavy rains cause a sewage overflow.
Detailed Description
Epic rainfall fell around Atlanta, Georgia on Sept. 21, 2009. The resulting runoff overwhelmed many of the combined storm/sewage systems, resulting in sewage overflows coming out of the sewers and flowing directly into rivers.
This picture shows a sewage overflow occuring in Roswell, Georgia, just alongside the Chattahoochee River.
