Lehman Cave

Detailed Description

Lehman Cave has an abundance of speleothems formed by the precipitation of calcite and traces of other minerals in the cavern after the water in the chambers drained away. This view shows common speleothems including stalactites (icicle-like formations that hang from the cavern ceiling), stalagmites (melted-ice cream-shaped rock formations that accumulated on the cavern floor), and columns that form where a stalactite and a stalagmite join together.
