Marble Canyon

Detailed Description

 

Marble Canyon contains a series of short, but deep, narrow gorges that cut through sedimentary rock formations of Devonian and Mississippian age in the Cottonwood Mountains. Marble Canyon is a side canyon of the larger Cottonwood Creek drainage. The rocks exposed in the cliffs are dense limestone, dolomite, and marble.
