Mariaguadalupe (Maria) Vilchez, graduate student at the conducting fieldwork in the Tallapoosa River, Alabama. Maria is a first year master's student at Auburn University in the School of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences advised by Dr. Shannon Brewer. Her thesis is examining the role of altered flows and thermal variability on the reproductive success of riverine fishes. Maria participated in the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program (DDCSP) during her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida where she majored in Natural Resource Conservation.
