Cover: Photograph of Fletcher Granite Co.’s Chelmsford Grey Quarry in Westford, MA, taken in about 2000. This quarry has been in continual operation since 1881 and is the source of the company’s Chelmsford Grey product. Over the years, granite from this quarry has been used in numerous building and civil engineering projects. According to the company, Chelmsford Grey granite was used for the Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building and the National Cathedral, both in Washington, DC. Photograph by Thomas P.
