Mineral Systems Map: Areas with Potential to Host Subsurface Critical Minerals

This map shows the mineral systems map from the Earth Mapping Resources Initiative (Earth MRI). Through Earth MRI, USGS brings together federal and state experts to: 

• Identify areas with mineral systems that might contain critical minerals and collect focused data within these areas
• Accelerate crtical mineral resource assessments
• Show states, resource managers and developers where emerging minerals-dependent technologies may create econmic opportunities. 

The mineral systems map contains 23 different systems, each with the potential to contain multiple critical minerals.
