Soil samples from the Montebello Forebay Ground Water Recharge Project's Rio Hondo spreading grounds were assessed for their ability to biodegrade N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA). Recycled water applied to the spreading grounds recharges a drinking-water aquifer in south-central Los Angeles County, California. Photo courtesy of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
