Detailed Description
During September 2024, the U.S. Geological Survey Cascades Volcano Observatory (CVO) and Pacific Northwest Seismic Network (PNSN) located six earthquakes at Mount Adams. For comparison, earthquakes at this volcano are typically located at a rate of about 1 every 2-3 years. Six earthquakes represent the most earthquakes located at Mount Adams in one month since monitoring began in 1982. The September earthquake magnitudes range from 0.9 to 2.0 and were not felt at the surface.
