Mule deer

Habitat change is putting iconic wildlife such as mule deer, elk, mountain lions, and black bears at risk in the western U.S. USGS researchers at the New Mexico Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit at New Mexico State University are teaming up with our cooperators and partners to create better restoration treatments that may help reduce wildfires and protect wildlife habitat.
