Nature-like fishway on the Yellowstone River

Detailed Description
USGS researchers at the Montana Fishery Research Unit are assessing the effectiveness of a nature-like fishway designed by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks to allow upstream passage of migrating fish past the Huntley irrigation diversion dam on the Yellowstone River, which provides water to 30,000 acres of farmland. The fishway allowed passage of all 14 species tagged demonstrating the functionality of nature-like fishways on large, unregulated rivers.
