Pacific oysters

Washington is the nation’s leading producer of farmed clams, oysters, and mussels, including Manila clam (Ruditapes philippinarum), Pacific oyster (Magallana gigas), and Pacific blue mussel (Mytilus trossulus). Farming shellfish contributes approximately $184 million to the Washington State economy, supports over 1,900 jobs, and supplies fresh shellfish to consumers around the globe.
