Pend Oreille River in winter

Detailed Description
The Kalispel Tribe in northeastern Washington is located along the Pend Oreille River, home to culturally important, cold-water fish, such as bull trout and cutthroat trout. In an ongoing study, USGS researchers are helping to identify cold-water refuges and develop a protection and restoration framework that will inform Kalispel Tribe natural resource managers involved in policy and management decisions.
