Phosphorus concentrations in the lower 48 United States

Stacked bar chart shows the percent of the total load of phosphorous by source for each of the hydrologic regions of the lower 48 United States. Agriculture is the largest source of phosphorous for most regions of the country, but wastewater, natural sources, and other human sources are larger for some areas of the west and east.
