In Pu`u `O`o's crater, several vents are incandescent

Detailed Description

In Pu`u `O`o's crater, several vents are incandescent. This one is at the East Pond Vent, where the top of a spatter cone has collapsed to give a nearly vertical view of seething lava below. The hole is several meters wide, and the lava is 5-10 meters below the crater floor at the base of the cone.
