Detailed Description
Three-dimensional rendering of the Falcon #1 Mine in Eskdale, West Virginia that is extracting coal. The center panel depicts aerial photography (ESRI® Imagery basemap: Earthstar Geographics), while the left and right panels reflect pre-mining (1985) and current mining activity (2022) vegetation (Landsat Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and terrain (U.S. Geological Survey National Elevation Data and 3-DEP elevation data) conditions.
