Sagebrush steppe and cheatgrass in the region of Juntura, Oregon

Detailed Description
The Wyoming big sagebrush steppe in this region of Oregon is commonly codominated by Bromus tectorum from the region around Vale westward to Lakeview (excepting upper elevations or sagebrush steppe dominated by other than Wyoming big sagebrush). Chrysothamnus nauseosus and Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus are both common in this area, as are Agropyron cristatum, Elymus elymoides, Stipa thurberiana, and Oryzopsis hymenoides. Crepis is a common herb in this area. These same species occur in burned sagebrush steppe in this area. Photo by Matt Lavin. Some rights reserved.
