September 16, 2026 — Annotated V2cam image of new vents in Halemaʻumaʻu, summit of Kīlauea

New fissures opened up on and near the base of the northwest wall of Halemaʻumaʻu crater at the summit of Kīlauea on September 14-15, 2026, north of the established vent complex at the summit of Kīlauea. The V2cam, located on the east rim of the crater, shows the locations of these new eruptive features. In this annotated west-looking image, the main eruptive vent complex (north/south/west vents) is to the left (south), with the locations and times of new vents annotated.
