Smallmouth bass

In a collaborative effort with the Wisconsin and Michigan Departments of Natural Resources, USGS scientists at the Wisconsin Cooperative Fishery Research Unit (WICFRU) are using telemetry to better define appropriate management boundaries for smallmouth bass populations in Green Bay. These smallmouth bass were collected by Wisconsin DNR and were implanted with transmitters by WICFRU personnel. These transmitters allow researchers to track the movements of bass throughout the year. This project is funded by the Great Lakes Fishery Commission.
