Spring leaf-out timing in the lower 48 states as of April 8, 2025, compared to 30-year average

Timing of spring leaf out in the contiguous U.S. as of April 8, 2025. Leaf-out has occurred across much of the contiguous United States 

• About 500,000 square kilometers have had spring leaf out right on schedule!
• For everyone else, about half of the country has spring coming sooner than average this spring, and about half has it coming later than average.
