USGS Scientists re-measure beach post-Helene

Detailed Description

USGS Scientist Johnathan Woodruff sets up the GPS unit to measure the upper-beach sensor location at Fort DeSoto Park, FL following Hurricane Helene. Prior to the storm, this post was at the base of the dune, but the dune was almost entirely destroyed by storm surge and wave from Helene decimating the beach system and littering the sand with plant debris. This park doesn't have homes/structures, so you don't see the same number of human debris as you would at a place like nearby Madeira Beach, FL.
