It’s a WaterAlert on your phone, taking the uncertainty out of flood response! This map shows all the WaterAlert notifications sent out  in 2024. 

WaterAlert is a system offered by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) that allows you to receive updates via email or text about changing water conditions at select locations.  
 
WaterAlert provides automated alerts about the conditions at a streamgage you care about based on the parameters you set for your particular interests. For instance, you could set up an alert to tell you every time the river reaches a streamflow above a certain level.
