• Set the base map layer 
• Set the color of the earthquake icons to be based on time or depth 
• Set the earthquake depth units to kilometers or miles 
• Set the earthquake time units to UTC or local time 
• Turn the display of the legend on and off 
• Turn the display of earthquake data on and off
