Zion National Park

Hikers preparing to wade into The Narrows of the Virgin River Gorge in Zion National Park. The Narrows are located in the upper canyon of the North Fork of the Virgin River. In The Narrows, the river has not yet cut down into the softer shale sediments of the Kayenta Formation underlying the Navajo Sandstone.
