A novel union of LiDAR inventories and InSAR: Documenting the distribution and activity of landslides in Yellowstone National Park
Detailed Description
Landslide inventories are critical data sets for assessing landslide hazards and understanding landscape evolution. Here we use park-wide LiDAR collected in 2020 to create a landslide inventory and InSAR data to create a time series of landslide activity between 2017 and 2021. We manually mapped and classified ~1800 deposits from LiDAR, ~200 of which present InSAR-detectable movement. In this talk, I will discuss our methods and the overall characteristics of landslides in Yellowstone, share InSAR observations, and highlight some of the myriad opportunities to build on this work.
