Detailed Description

Permanent Site: D1 West Transect; Depth: 10.3 Meters (33.8 Feet); Distance from river mouth: 0.2 Kilometers (0.1 Miles); Pre/Post Dam Removal: 10 months post-dam removal; Lat/Long: 48.15115998,-123.56801602; Site Description: This site is right off the mouth of the river. Substrate is mainly gravel with some sand. All annual species of seaweeds are gone except for a few small reds (0:51, 1:00 seconds. Stalks of the perennial seaweed Pterygophora californica (0:22, 1:21, 1:44 seconds) are present but have almost no green growth. Invertebrates are present but not abundant. Invertebrates seen on video: blood sea star Henricia leviuscula leviuscula (1:36 seconds). A ratfish (Hydrolagus colliei) appears at 0:57 seconds.
