Hi my name is Nick Stasulis and I work with the Maine Office of the New England Water Science Center. In this video we will demonstrate how to enter ending edge information in the SonTek RSSL software.

When ADCP data collection is complete, start a new station and select the End Edge button in the station dialog. In this dialog, enter the location of the ending edge.

If there is a vertical or near vertical bank at the edge, you can enter a user input water depth. For a triangular bank, no entry is needed here. If a bank is vertical or near-vertical, also be sure to enter the velocity correction factor, which is based on the velocity from the prior station where you collected data. Estimate the velocity at the bank relative to the velocity at the prior  station and enter a correction factor to account for the difference. For example, a correction of 0.5 would indicate the velocity at the bank is half of the velocity at the previous station. Gage height information can also be entered.

Once you are satisfied with the entries on this page, simply click Ok to end the measurement.
