Thrust Fault
Detailed Description
A thrust fault is a reverse fault with a dip of 45° or less, a very low angle. This animation shows a reverse fault which is a steeper-angle fault, but it moves the same way.
The video is a simple animation showing a cross section of the earth with a road, grass, and a tree at the surface. There is an inclined fracture in the middle of the cross section. The left side of the cross section moves up, offsetting the road and grass.
