Hello! Welcome to the NDT Winter 2023 Newsletter. The last three months have focused on development and outreach. We provided an American Trails Webinar highlighting the NDT project and demonstrated TRAILS (Trail Routing, Analysis, and Information Linkage System), our web-based trail planning support tool. We were also at the US Geological Survey’s exhibit booth at the Esri Federal GIS Conference February 7-8, 2023. On the development “side of the house”, improvements to TRAILS are focused on implementing viewshed analysis and continuing to improve sustainable trail planning. In addition, we are making progress on the Trail Data Portal which will help manage the digital trail aggregation process. In this newsletter, we are excited to highlight articles from our friends at OpenStreetMap and the National Park Service.
