A magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck Papua New Guinea on February 26, 2018 at 3:45 pm local  time (February 25, 17:45 UTC). There have been at least 45 aftershocks greater than M2.5, in the past day. The largest of the aftershocks was M6.2.
