High Water Mark Sign marking Alabama River's highest recorded level unveiled in Montgomery

On Feb. 26, 1961, the Alabama River crested at 58 feet 1 inch after several days of heavy rainfall. The USGS, National Weather ServiceCity of Montgomery, andMontgomery Emergency Management Agency came together Friday, March 11 to unveil a commemorative marker showing the highest recorded level of the Alabama River in Montgomery.
