Scientists Present Bay-Delta Research at 2019 Interagency Ecological Program Workshop
Earlier this month, over 40 scientists from the California Water Science Center attended the 2019 Interagency Ecological Program (IEP) Workshop in Folsom, California.
Several of these scientists presented their latest research on Bay-Delta related topics such as biogeochemistry, hydrodynamics, water quality mapping, aquatic ecology, and wetlands restoration. Such Bay-Delta research provides decision makers, resource managers, and the public with the most up-to-date knowledge on this complex and important system.
The IEP’s mission is to provide ecological information for management of the Bay-Delta ecosystem and the water that flows through it. This is accomplished through collaborative and scientifically sound monitoring, research, modeling, and synthesis efforts for various aspects of the aquatic ecosystem. The IEP addresses high priority management and policy science needs under State and Federal regulatory requirements. The IEP relies upon multidisciplinary teams of agency, academic, and non-governmental scientists to accomplish its mission.
