Delivering and Using 3D Hydrography Program (3DHP) Data
December 2024 USGS Hydrography Community Call recording is now available
During the December 10, 2024 USGS Hydrography Community Call, Silvia Terziotti, the National Geospatial Program Hydrography Science and Applications Lead, presented on the topic “Delivering and Using 3D Hydrography Program (3DHP) Data”.
The 3D Hydrography Program (3DHP) database is initially populated with the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) features that are mapped to the new data model. The NHD-source features will be replaced with hydrography derived from the 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) lidar and IfSAR data as it becomes available. Also discussed are the diverse applications for the input features that the 3DHP model supports, including additional functionality and derivatives available for the elevation-derived hydrography and user-specific targeted views such as interfaces for cartographic, full linear and catchment realization, and linear referencing. 3DHP data delivery, accessibility, and sharing based on the principles of the Internet of Water (IoW) are also highlighted.
The video of the presentation is available on both YouTube and the USGS website.
