Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Re-Os Geochronologic Data for Porphyry Deposits in the Yukon-Tanana Upland, Eastern Alaska Re-Os Geochronologic Data for Porphyry Deposits in the Yukon-Tanana Upland, Eastern Alaska

Rhenium-osmium (Re-Os) geochronology of molybdenite provides a tool to directly date mineralizing events in hydrothermal systems. In the Yukon-Tanana upland of eastern Alaska, numerous molybdenite-bearing porphyry occurrences are recognized. The deposits are related to middle and Late Cretaceous granitoids (Kreiner and others, 2019; 2020). Some of the porphyry districts have multiple...

Simulation models for buffelgrass and alternative management strategies for Saguaro National Park, AZ Simulation models for buffelgrass and alternative management strategies for Saguaro National Park, AZ

This is a spatially-explicit state-and-transition simulation model of buffelgrass dynamics and alternative management actions in Saguaro National Park, AZ. Buffelgrass is an invasive grass spreading in the park. This work built on previous efforts that first developed a state and transition simulation model linked to FARSITE fire behavior model to describe buffelgrass dynamics in the...

Data and Code for Predicting Flood Damage Probability Across the Conterminous United States Data and Code for Predicting Flood Damage Probability Across the Conterminous United States

This data release contains the associated data described in the related primary publication, "Predicting Flood Damage Probability Across the Conterminous United States" (Collins et al. [2022], see Related External Resources section). Publicly available geospatial datasets and random forest algorithms were used to analyze the spatial distribution and underlying drivers of flood damage...

Status and Trends of North American Bats Summer Occupancy Analysis 2010-2019 Data Release Status and Trends of North American Bats Summer Occupancy Analysis 2010-2019 Data Release

This data release contains the results from the North American Bat Monitoring Program's report titled 'Status and Trends of North American Bats Summer Occupancy Analysis 2010-2019'. Specifically, these data include tabular data and geospatial data for the species-specific results related to the status and trends of 12 bat species at multiple spatial scales including: 10 km x 10 km grid...

Bridge-Site Study Data for Selected Highway Crossings in Mississippi, 2020 Bridge-Site Study Data for Selected Highway Crossings in Mississippi, 2020

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) works closely with the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) to provide information to be used by the MDOT for design of highway-drainage structures. MDOT spends millions of dollars annually for highway construction. Streamflow records, hydrologic analyses of basins, and hydraulic analyses of flooding potential at proposed highway crossings...

U-Pb and 40Ar/39Ar Geochronologic Data for Selected Rocks from the Western Alaska Range, Alaska U-Pb and 40Ar/39Ar Geochronologic Data for Selected Rocks from the Western Alaska Range, Alaska

This dataset includes four tables with isotopic data and ages for selected igneous bedrock samples collected in 2001 through 2003 from the Western Alaska Range, southcentral Alaska: (1) the concentration of uranium (U) and thorium (Th), ratios of multiple isotopes of lead (Pb) and U, and the age of multiple analytical aliquots, or fractions, of zircon for each sample; (2) the 40Ar/39Ar...
