The Golden Trout Wilderness occupies 457 square miles in the southern Sierra Nevada range of California, south of Sequoia National Park. The study area includes at least a part of the Kern Peak, Olancha, Mineral King, Hockett Peak, Camp Nelson, and Manache Mountain 15-minute quadrangle maps. It is contained totally within lands belonging to the Inyo and Sequoia National Forests.
