This report depicts the geology and discusses the geologic history of the Inner Continental Shelf off the central part of the Massachusetts east coast. Massachusetts Bay is located between Cape Cod Bay and Cape Ann, and its eastern limit lies in the vicinity of Stellwagen Basin (figs. 1, 2).
