Estimation of peak-frequency relations, flood hydrographs, and volume-duration-frequency relations of ungaged small urban streams in Ohio

January 1, 1994

Methods and step-by-step examples are presented to estimate (1) peak-frequency relations, (2) flood hydrographs and volumes, and (3) volume-duration frequency relations of small urban streams in Ohio. The methods were developed to assist planners in the design of hydraulic structures for which hydrograph routing is required or where the temporary storage of water is an important element of the design criteria. The data base for the analyses consisted of rainfall-runoff data collected at 62 small drainage basins distributed throughout Ohio.
