Ground-water levels in the alluvial aquifer in eastern Arkansas, 1984

January 1, 1985

This report, prepared by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the Arkansas Soil and Water Conservation Commission, the U.S. Soil Conservation Service and local Conservation Districts, contains groundwater level measurements in 452 wells tapping the Mississippi River Valley alluvial aquifer of eastern Arkansas. The measurements were made by the U.S. Soil Conservation Service during 1984. The purpose of this report is to provide these data to other State and Federal agencies as well as to private landowners. On the average, a decline of 2.5 feet in water levels was observed throughout the study area after the pumping season. (USGS)
