Habitat Suitability Index Models: Inland silverside
The systematics of the Meni di a complex have been evaluated by Johnson (1975), who could not distinguish biochemical differences between ~. beryllina and M. audens, and by Chernoff et al. (1981), who concluded that M. audens is conspecific with ~. beryllina. The two species have since been synonymized as ~. beryllina, the inland silverside. The result is a considerable extension of ~. beryllina's range into freshwater habitats.
