Investigations of the fluctuations of the ground‐water table in Pennsylvania

Hydraulic engineers are interested in ground‐water as a source of water supply and also as it affects stream‐flow. The stream‐flow is especially valuable at low stages and it is at the low stages that it is most closely related to the ground‐water conditions. For several years the Pennsylvania Topographic and Geologic Survey and the United States Geological Survey have cooperated in making a comprehensive study of the ground‐water resources of Pennsylvania, but no adequate records of ground‐water levels have in the past been obtained. Recently, however, a project for obtaining systematic records in Pennsylvania has been started. ©1932. American Geophysical Union.
