The Sahelian Zone Remote Sensing Seminar/Workshop held in Bamako, Mali, April 17-28, 1973. The Government of Mali was host. The Agency for International Development sponsored and funded, and the U. S. Geological Survey prepared and presented the program. Thirteen countries and seven commissions were invited. Thirty-five scientists and management personnel from nine countries and nine commissions participated. Subjects were the ERTS Experiment Data Acquisition and Processing, the EROS Program, and Applications of ERTS Data in Cartography, Geology, Geography, Hydrology, Agriculture and Forestry.

The report gives critiques by staff and students and a brief account of activities in U. S. and Mali preparatory to conduct of course.
